The mercenary has recently made a reputation for themself in the Ul'dahn underworld after finally being spotted outside of Gyr Abania. Man, woman... Nobody spins a tale for the moment out of pure respect or fear for the title.What little is known about the mercenary is their background. A previous member of the Ala Mhigan Resistance, during the Garlean occupation. An extremist branch that used radical methods to assist in freeing their population against their oppressors. After the successful freedom of the city, they turned their skills into profits across the small region before finally settling now in Ul'dah, quickly becoming a name for those in the right line of work.A name is loosely fit with the mercenary, that of Harrowforth. Though it couldn't be the owner of the family business, Alexander, as he's a peaceful man. His sister on the other hand...

⚔︎ from humble starts...

Emiliana was born to merchant parents Ilka and Samantha Harrowforth, one of Ala Mhigo's finest import and export business holders for the region. She grew highly fond of her adopted older brother of miqo'te origin, Alexander who would be her closest friend in life.The bright early years turned out well. Emiliana looked to be following her mother in a path of learning how to handle textiles and fine clothing, perhaps in another star she would've made a fine weaver one day. That time however would never come to be, thanks to the imperial occupation and harsh treatment of the population of Ala Mhigo. The Harrowforths found their business becoming incredibly difficult, due to taxation and stolen goods 'occupied' by the Garlean enforcers that lingered over their heads every single day.Despite the harsh conditions enforced onto the people, the early years of the Harrowforth family were mostly peaceful. They kept their heads down, out of trouble, as their father would often tell them to do. One could never be too careful, especially with a reputable business on the line being the family's only way of earning gil to survive. If it weren't for the whispers of an uprising, things would've stayed that way...

⚔︎ came brutal lessons...

With Garlean oppression only getting worse as time went on, the population started to fight back in their own ways. One family that got unwillingly dragged into the Resistance were the Harrowforths. A brash teenager, Emiliana agreed with their movement and wanted to take their home back by force, while her father and brother took quieter means of actions, secretly supplying the Resistance with outside weapons where possible.
Emiliana even earned her infamous nickname thanks to the Garleans, dubbing her 'The Grey Wolf' thanks to her lethal tactics and precise strikes. Things seemed well for a short while, even allowing Emiliana to train and learn some lessons that would help her defend herself if the time called for it... Only too little too late on one fateful night.Emiliana would return home after meeting with some of her contacts to see their business, their home completely ransacked by Garlean enforcers. Only one survivor laid inside, her brother Alexander, with a threatening injury to his leg that would affect his life. Naturally, any sane person would've wanted revenge, and that's exactly the route Emiliana took despite her brother's pleas. One small branch of the Resistance was all too keen on taking her in.With a new willing and able recruit in their ranks, this branch dubbed the 'Black Knives of Ala Mhigo' sought all kinds of extremist routes to sabotaging Garlean operations, to the point where not even casualties of their own people mattered. One idea spiralled too far, thinking the summoning of a voidsent could cause the Garlean ranks to scatter... If only they had the means to dispatch the ritual once it had gone wrong. Thinking she was doing right, Emiliana lept into the chaos... Only finding herself tainted, attached to by an entity she had little control over.While the liberation did come eventually thanks to the assistance of the Eorzean Alliance, it was all too bittersweet for Emiliana. She'd lost her parents, almost her brother and now her life laid on the balance with something she didn't understand...

Years of searching, studying and fighting her own internal self brings Emiliana to the present day.With the assistance and funding of her brother, now a reputable Magitek engineer and owner of the Harrowforth Trading Company, Emiliana has come to a 'deal' with her darker side of life. While she's not rid entirely of her void-companion, they are able to work hand-in-hand, so long as certain requirements are met.Now, she works as a mercenary for the highest bidder in Ul'dah's criminal underworld. Her reputation and skillset enough has earned her a place to keep her title well-earned, though publicly she's still only a simple 'owner' of a trading company. A tough double-life to follow, but one she at least tries to keep for her brother's sake. Though that can often be difficult with a price above her head from the Blades...
